Hey, I'm Darren.

I'm an independent developer and trader based in Kuala Lumpur. I built VersaTrader because I got fed up paying for trading tools that charged $28–90 a month for features that honestly shouldn't cost that much.

I've been trading crypto since 2018. For most of that time I was paying for Altrady, which is fine — but it kept getting more expensive while the features I actually needed (TP/SL, trailing stops, proper multi-exchange view) felt like they were always one tier away.

So I built my own. Started as a personal tool, ended up being something I wanted to share.

The philosophy

Trading tools should be accessible. The information edge in crypto comes from reading the market well, not from paying more for your platform. A $24/month tool should give you the same execution capability as a $90/month one.

VersaTrader's TA tools and paper trading are free forever. The Pro plan is for live exchange connections and smart orders — and even then, it's priced to be affordable, not to maximise revenue.

The tech

VersaTrader is a web app — no download, no install, works on any device with a browser. Real-time charts via Lightweight Charts, WebSocket market data directly from exchanges, and a proper backend for managing your orders and positions. Hosted in Asia (Singapore) for latency reasons.

Privacy

No Google Analytics. No tracking pixels. Analytics is Plausible — aggregated, no cookies, GDPR-safe. Your API keys are encrypted at rest. I don't sell data. That's it.
